About Dr. Robert Reiser
If you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, psychosis, or another serious mental health condition, you’ve probably already learned that good intentions aren’t enough — you need treatment that actually works. That’s what I try to provide.
I’m a licensed psychologist (PSY 9327) with over three decades of experience using cognitive behavioral therapy to help adults, older adults, and adolescents (16+) with a wide range of problems. My practice focuses particularly on conditions where the stakes are high and the need for specialized, evidence-based care is greatest — including schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and depression.
CBT works best when it’s tailored carefully to the person, not applied from a manual. I take time to understand your specific situation, set clear and meaningful goals with you, and adjust as we go. Getting better isn’t just about reducing symptoms — it’s about returning to the life you want.
I am a Faculty Member and Certified Clinician at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSF, where I have supervised psychiatric residents in CBT for over ten years. I stay current with what the research actually shows — not what happens to be fashionable.
A free 15-minute telehealth consultation is a good place to start. It gives us both a chance to see whether I’m the right fit for what you’re facing. I see clients in person in Kentfield, CA and by HIPAA-compliant video.
