My training in cognitive therapy (or cognitive behavioral therapy) includes training at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, the premiere national training institute for cognitive therapy founded by Aaron T. Beck, M.D., the originator of cognitive therapy.
I am a Beck Institute CBT Certified Clinician and current Adjunct Faculty Member at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and a Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (ACT), an internationally recognized accrediting organization for cognitive therapists.
What Is "Evidence-based" Psychological Treatment?
I provide "evidence-based" psychological treatment. What does this mean? This means that I use approaches to treatment that are known to be effective based upon the best scientific evidence available. As a psychologist, I keep up to date on the newest and most effective treatments available.
I am also dedicated to utilizing a type of psychotherapy that has been demonstrated to be an empirically supported treatment for a wide range of emotional and mental disorders. I have trained at the Beck Institute and been certified through the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies as a cognitive behavioral therapist. I have over 500 hours of post-graduate training in cognitive behavioral therapy including workshops and supervision.
