Beck Institute-certified CBT — scientifically rigorous, deeply human

A brief no cost 10-15 minute telehealth consultation will help determine if I am the right person to help you.

I'm Seeking Help for Myself

I help people with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, psychosis, and related conditions using cognitive-behavioral therapy. My treatment combines evidence-based therapy tailored to your specific problems with a compassionate, individualized approach.

I'm Seeking Help as a Family Member

When someone you love is struggling with serious mental illness, the fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty can be just as overwhelming as the illness itself.
I work with families as active participants in recovery — not just bystanders to a loved one's care. Using evidence-based CBT principles, I can help you understand what your family member is experiencing, communicate more effectively during difficult moments, and find a sustainable path forward together.

Please call me at (415) 297 1016 or email me at rreiser@cbtsupervision.com.

Currently, I am providing therapy both in person and by video using a professional HIPAA compliant version of Zoom.  If you're ready to schedule an appointment with me, visit this page:

My Approach to CBT

I am a Beck Institute trained cognitive therapist credentialed as a Beck Institute CBT Certified Clinician. My approach is guided by the following principles:

Collaborative:

CBT is a collaborative, problem solving therapy that emphasizes practical solutions and taking steps toward important life goals.

Individualized:

Therapy is tailored to you — your specific problems, goals, and circumstances — rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Problem and Goal Focused:

We identify clear, measurable goals from the start so you always know what we're working toward — and can see when it's working.

Recovery-Oriented:

Getting better isn't just about reducing symptoms — it's about returning to the life you want. We keep that bigger picture in view throughout.  This means returning to meaningful activities in your life even if you are feeling quite ill (depressed, anxious, or confused).

Effective and Evidence-based:

The techniques I use are drawn from randomized controlled trials, not current clinical fashions. As a Beck Institute faculty member, I stay current with what the research actually shows.
