My training in cognitive therapy (or cognitive behavioral therapy) includes training at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, the premiere national training institute for cognitive therapy founded by Aaron T. Beck, M.D., the originator of cognitive therapy.
In addition, I am a current Faculty Member at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and a Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy (ACT), an internationally recognized accrediting organization for cognitive therapists.
What Is "Empirically Supported" Psychological Treatment?
I provide "empirically supported" or "evidence-based" psychological treatment. What does this mean? This means that I use approaches to treatment that are known to be effective based upon the best scientific evidence available. As a psychologist, I keep up to date on the newest and most effective treatments available.
I am also dedicated to utilizing a type of psychotherapy that has been demonstrated to be an empirically supported treatment for a wide range of emotional and mental disorders. I have trained at the Beck Institute and been certified through the Academy of Cognitive Therapy as a cognitive behavioral therapist.
